Ministry of Justice Issues Warning Over Fake Telegram Account Impersonating Deputy Prime Minister Koeut Rith

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Justice has announced the creation of a fraudulent Telegram account, “MEUKKIMSROEUN7,” which employs the image of Deputy Prime Minister Koeut Rith, who is also the Minister of Justice. This account has been used to disseminate information regarding illegal investments across various Telegram groups, including one named “CEO MASTERS CLUB IN.” The intent is to mislead, entice, and deceive the public into participating in these unlawful investment schemes, potentially resulting in significant financial losses for citizens.

The Ministry of Justice has clarified that the activities conducted by this Telegram account are entirely unrelated to Deputy Prime Minister Koeut Rith or the Ministry of Justice itself. Officials have stated that any other Telegram account or group using the Deputy Prime Minister's photo or name for similar activities is also not authorized and should be considered fraudulent.

In light of this incident, the Ministry of Justice has urged other ministries, relevant institutions, and competent authorities to engage in rigorous investigations and enforce strict legal measures against such actions. Additionally, they have emphasized the importance of public vigilance against technological fraud, encouraging citizens to take precautions to avoid being deceived and protecting their financial interests.
